My attemt at Killer Queen
This is the only complete thing I have to show from my summer recording projects. Its 23 tracks, all instruments played and mixed by me. There’s 8 vocal tracks, and 8 guitar tracks. I have about 45 hours total put into this project, about 30 recording and 15 mixing.I started with a programmed metronome track that had all the right timing changes at all the right places and started recording piano drums and bass over that. Vocals and little guitar embellishments were the last to go on. I recorded the vocals over two days, both of which I was a little sick on, not to mention the song is a little high for my range. I got my wisdom teeth knocked out right after, so I had plenty of recovery time to do nothing but mix it all and put in all the right volume adjustments and fancy pan tricks. The instruments used are:piano- stereo piano samples played on a midi keyboarddrums- stereo drum samples played on an electric drum kitbass- 70s Fender Precision Bassrhythm guitar- ‘64 Fender Stratocaster (not in the picture)lead guitar- homemade replica of Brian May’s Red Special guitar
