Please take it easy on Bocelli. Opera people are aware of his vocal shortcomings.
But the point is he is a very personable man who is widely popular and helps to expose a great range of listeners to opera and classical generally.
Nitpicking Bocelli performances too much makes reviewers look like insensitive elitists, and that’s to no one’s benefit. Leave the man in peace to entertain people.

Marvin Lee Aday is better known by his stage name, Meatloaf.

@thanci Do you know really about what you are talking? Bocelli is getting
better day by day and at the moment, is no another singer that arrives to
his quality of voice and as human person. I’m sorry, but he is not Stevie
Wonder, famous because he’s blind. Andrea is famous cause he is very
very good and if you want to find someone to compare with, I think you’ll
hace a very hard job, and please, educated a little bitt your ears.

@circulista .Sorry is: you’ll HAVE a very hard job…..

@Babs22h it was just a joke. I respect a lot S.W. But it seems also just a joke
the nonsense that people saids. Most of them knows nothing about music or
the studies or technics or how to read music. I’m a musician and I am teacher
in three instruments plus voice and I think I am authorized to said that, actually
is no other tenor as good as Maestro Andrea Bocelli. Sorry if my commente is
causing you any trouble.

I love it, it’s a wonderful opera, song and wonderful artists.
But their accent isn’t very well, can’t understand it. Has someone the lyrics?

@cbyam1300 I would agree. He truly is NOT an opera singer but by exposing people to something as beautiful as this duet he does help grow public awareness of the arts. In the modern world people need this help in having their emotions touched thru their intellect. I love rock/pop but as we grow older the soul searches for something more……..

I like his voice, it’s so clean and pure sounding. They both sound really incredible to me. Beautiful.

I havn’t noticed mention of how well the wonderful, atmospheric orchestration comes through.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I love this song so much, Andrea Bocelli is my idol his voice is the best of the best, no one can do any better, his voice is just, well amazing there is no other word to describe it, when you watch him sing it just looks as if he is putting no effort into it, this song, this tenor makes me lift above the earth and makes me feel as if I am floating in his notes he creates with his wonderful perfect voice.

I saw a documetary on Bocelli, he did what his parents wanted and went to school to be a lawyer for 6 years rather than persue music his only passion 1st. Only then did he follow his dreams we see him in now. Is Bryn a professional now other than music?……..Bocelli rides bicycles, horses, sky dives and anything he wants………He is nothing short of amazing! The man is living up to every potential he was created with and beyond!

Bocelli’s handlers always insist that he have lots of reverb and amplification. Nice voice. Not great. Great gimmick. Happy that it introduces beautiful music to those who would not otherwise be exposed to the it.
Bryn Terfel really doesn’t need the tricks to hold his own.

is there anybody can provide the original words of this song. cause I really like to perform it by myself in karaoke!!!
thanks.

I am most impressed by Terfel’s professionalism in dealing with Bocelli’s blindness. Terfel is clearly working with Bocelli, following his leads, and making sure that they stay in sync throughout. This is a masterful performance by BOTH men.

@zhangyingwu72 Chk out Kraus and McDaniel’s version posted by parkyojin. He posted the English translation

When I feel down I listen to this video and I get lifted up…
June 6th, 2010 at 23:06
Excellent!
June 7th, 2010 at 7:54
2:43, I suddenly understand the critique of the “thinness” of Bocelli’s voice.
June 9th, 2010 at 15:05
I am not a expert in singing but I like this very much. It is beautiful more emotionally acessible than the others except for the interpretation by Merril and Bjorling
