That band featured Arthur Brown, of course on vocals, as organist Vincent Crane (later of Atomic Rooster) and drummer Carl Palmer (later briefly of Atomic Rooster before joining Emerson, Lake & Palmer, one of the biggest names in prog rock). By 1969, the Crazy World of Arthur Brown was no more. A second album was recorded and scrapped (but later surfaced …

It is to me!!! I have 2 copies which are a little the worse for wear but would love to get a pristine copy…… Any thoughts of how much you would want for it?

Right now it’s on it’s way back from the USA to UK with all my worldy posessions. I will have it in about 6 weeks or so. I don’t have anything to play it on right now to check the status, but the sleeve was in perfect condition (like most of my LP’s), just been boxed up for a few years.
I don’t know about value, but I am sure we could come to an agreement.

As a young teenager in the early 70s I was completely blown away by this album.
I was listening to this while most of my school mates were into Slade and The Sweet!
I am lucky to own a good copy myself and think it is time for an airing! LG.

An old hippy mate of mine introduced me to Kingdom Come about 10 years ago and we have almost worn his vinyl out. Last year i managed to find a pristine copy, price, £175. Would love to have got it but didn’t have the sponds at the time.

Great!! Please let me know when you have a moment. I have just purchased the CD version and I think it still stands up (albeit that the intro is a little TOO long!). Way ahead of its time basically! looking forward to hearing from you poddys. Hope the stuff arrives safe and sound!

That’s what I think too but I look for this song for years under that name. Makes me want to eat about two or three hits of good blotter.

Thanks a million for posting this. I thought this song was lost for ever. Brings to mind a better more creative time. Is Arthur Brown still alive?
November 14th, 2009 at 7:56
Yes, he is. Have a look to my Hawkwind Clip. Guess who’s the singer?

I got all my posessions back from Florida, but haven’t opened the LP cases yet. Hopefully everything is still good, including my mint condition KC Journey album.
November 20th, 2009 at 21:43
175! I would be happy to sell my copy at that price

Never really a Hawkwind fan, but this video is really good.

I saw Arthur Brown and Kingdom Come in 1973 at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester great gig and the album Journey is one of my favourites….. Arthur was way ahead of his time.

Great ! Thank you !
Is it certain, the song is called “Time Captives”?
He DOES sing: “We are Time CAPTAINS”, I am positive there.
(Back in boarding school I used to wake up my roommates with a full volume version of “Fire”, or Birthcontrols “Gamma Ray” when more mildly mooded.)
Makes a difference to me if we are Time-Captains or -Captives, you know…

Hi,

We had Fire on an eight track and a boombox, we were at the bottom of Spirit Mountain Caverns by Cody. There was a big altar type rock where people burned candles. We had Arthur Brown blaring, candle burning and we scared the shit out of whoever was coming down behind us.
