   @hypercity06 Jeff Buckley’s version is the most unique. Bon Jovi just sings it with almost no discernible emotion. Hell, he has freaking backup singers. Jeff actually poured his heart and soul into his version.

   @Scythe1234321 I’ve never heard a Bon Jovi performance without emotion. If you can’t feel the emotion, you’re not listening well enough. There’s so much in this song that it makes me want to cry, it’s just so withheld that maybe you can’t hear.

    If I remember rightly when Leonard Cohen wrote this there were something like 80 plus verses and it took him years… I have heard many singers approach this song and I feel that everyone of them put a little of themselves into it… I only wish I was clever enough or even open enough to write lyrics like Leonard… for those of you who have only ever heard this of him…please check out some of his albums..esp his first album Songs Of Love and Hate.

    I love this song and have been listening to this song for years and heard so many people sing it, most of them do it justice and sometimes you just want to cry and this one is one of them.. OMG!! Jon puts his heart and soul into this song and you can just see it when he finishes singing that it was so emotional for him…MEAN MAORI MEAN!!!

    He sang this perfectly @ The New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Wednesday! It really moved me and the entire packed stadium. Welcome home to NJ JBJ

    @hypercity06 Leonard Cohen did write & perfom this song. He has told Jon that he favors his version best of all artist who have performed it. ;o)

    God I just love this song Jon sings it great.,…..what a voice~ I have followed him every concert every year and he gets better and better with age….
